In recent Weaserville news, there has been a heated debate on whether or not to use our ten million dollars to buy an oil ridge or use it to set up a shopping center. Lets look at the pro's and cons of each one.
With the oil ridge we would leaving the fate of the town up to chance on whether or not the land actually has oil in it. If there is no oil the land could be ruined from all the drilling we have done with no benefits to it. Plus each oil ridge costs about ten million dollars each so we would not only be leaving it up to chance but we would be putting it all on one ridge. And if gambling has taught me anything it is to never place all of your money on one hand. On the plus side if we found oil it would be great, it would bring in a lot of money but who knows how long it would last before our oil runs out. THen we would be back to square one.
With the shopping center it is more of a risk on whether or not people would actually watn to come to a mall out in the middle of nowhere. But if it works out it could bring a lot of potential jobs and income to the area. The only difference between the oil ridge and the shopping center is the effet it would have on teh enviroment. With the potential of an oil spill the land could be ruined which could hurt not only the envoroment but the wild animals
So ask yourself. which one is more sensible?
